I’m writing this shortly before leaving the Essex coastal town of Walton-on-the-Naze.
I’ve now had the pleasure of visiting five of the six RNLI Lifeboat Stations along the Essex coastline:
- Southend-on-Sea
- Burnham-on-Crouch
- West Mersea
- Clacton-on-Sea
- Walton & Frinton
Today, I head north to Aldeburgh in Suffolk in readiness for tomorrow (Saturday) before heading south again to work at Harwich — the final Essex station — on Sunday.
There’s so much to share from the last few days but I thought you might like to see some edited highlights.
I’ll write about some experiences in more detail when I return to Newcastle briefly next week…
MISSION TWO: REMAINING ITINERARY
As things stand, this is how the remaining itinerary is shaping up:
- Aldeburgh: Saturday 7th March 2015
- Harwich: Sunday 8th March 2015
- Cromer: Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th March (Cox’n/Crew)
- Lowestoft: Monday 16th March (Crew)
- Hunstanton: Wednesday 18th March (Senior Helm TBC)
- Walton & Frinton: Saturday 21st March (New Cox’n/Crew)
- Southwold: Sunday 22nd March (Crew)
There may be another date or two added to the mix shortly, so stay tuned!
THE PROJECT’S OXYGEN
I’d like to thank all those who’ve supported the Project to this point — it’s truly moving to see so many of you recognising the value in the photographs I’m making.
Remember, although the RNLI are supporting me logistically, I’m currently raising the funding under my own steam — in essence, my own form of crowdfunding.
Print sales, pre-orders and contributions are, quite frankly, the oxygen of The Lifeboat Station Project:
